Back in Stock Notification Channels and Plan Requirements

Back in Stock can notify subscribers by email and browser push. Email requires the Pro plan. Browser push is included on every plan. Signups are always collected no matter which plan you are on, so you never lose your list.

Signups are always collected

The "Notify me" form works on every plan. Shoppers can sign up whether or not your plan can send their notification yet. Their signups stay saved with status "Waiting".

This matters because your waitlist is an asset. A restock during a plan gap does not delete anyone.

What happens on the Free plan

  • Browser push notifications send normally.
  • Email notifications do not send. Subscribers waiting for an email stay in "Waiting".
  • The campaign's Activity feed records when a restock happened but emails were skipped because of the plan, so you can see what you missed.

What happens when you upgrade

Upgrading to Pro triggers an automatic catch-up. Dash checks every product that has waiting subscribers, and if the product is in stock right now and meets the campaign's threshold, the missed alerts are sent. You do not need to restock again or do anything manually.

What happens when you downgrade

Email sending stops immediately. Nothing is deleted:

  • Existing subscribers stay saved.
  • New signups keep being collected.
  • Browser push keeps working.

If you upgrade again later, the catch-up runs and waiting subscribers are notified for anything currently in stock.

The storefront form matches your plan

The signup form only shows fields for channels your plan can send on. When your plan changes, the form updates automatically. If the form looks out of date after a plan change, wait a minute or two and reload the page.
