🌟Exploring the demo store
Our demo store lets you see practical examples of DC Order Limits in action, directly from your customers' perspective. You can test minimum quantity rules, maximum quantity limits, and quantity increment rules to understand how they impact shopping experiences and operational efficiency.
📌Real-world order limit scenarios
In the demo store, you'll find examples of common scenarios merchants encounter such as:
- Minimum purchase requirements: See how minimum purchase amounts encourage higher-order values.
- Maximum quantity limits: Experience how maximum limits prevent and overselling.
- Flexible quantity increments: Test how customers can freely mix and match products while maintaining structured order quantities.
- Allowed quantities: Explore how certain products can only be purchased in specific numbers to match packaging or bundling logic.
- Market and customer-specific rules: Discover rules tailored specifically to customer segments or regions.
These scenarios demonstrate how implementing effective order limits helps simplify inventory management, protect profitability, and enhance customer satisfaction.
🧪How to see each rule type in action
Our demo store includes a wide range of rule types. Here's how to spot them as you browse, along with direct links to products or collections where they apply:
🧮Quantity increments
Products in the Wildflower Collection can only be purchased in increments of 6. Try adding items like Calendula Seeds or Cosmos Seeds to your cart and then proceed to checkout. You’ll see that checkout only works when the total quantity is 6, 12, 18, and so on. This applies across the whole collection, so you can mix and match as long as the total follows the rule. This makes packaging simpler and keeps bulk orders consistent.
🛒Minimum and maximum cart value for product groups
Products in the Vegetable Collection are tied to a cart minimum of $15. You’ll need to add at least $15 worth of items from the collection to be able to checkout. If the total falls short, checkout is blocked. This helps ensure each order stays efficient to pack and makes low-value orders less frequent.
📦Minimum & maximum quantity
The Maple Tree Seed Pack is capped at 3 units per order. Add more than that to your cart and checkout won’t go through. This helps keep stock available for others and makes it easier to stay on top of fulfillment.
🌐Market-based rules
The Classic Garden Pot includes a rule that caps the total order value at $50 for buyers in high-risk countries. This won’t apply unless you're browsing from one of those regions but it shows how you can set price-based rules for specific markets to stay protected and keep shipping costs under control.
🙅Logged out customer rules
The Limited Edition Watering Jug is limited to 1 per customer but only if you're logged out. Logging in removes the restriction and this shows how you can apply different rules for guests versus logged-in users to encourage account creation and manage limited inventory more carefully.
🎯Allowed quantities
The Decorative Garden Edging Brick can only be purchased in specific predefined quantities of 1, 3, or 10. Try adding one to your cart and adjusting the quantity. If the number you choose isn’t one of the allowed amounts, checkout won’t work. This type of rule helps keep fulfillment consistent and avoids awkward packaging scenarios.

🌱Variant minimums
The Oak Tree Seed Pack has variant-level rules where different sizes follow different minimums. The small size requires a minimum of 5, the medium size requires a minimum of 3, and the large size has no minimum at all. Try switching between variants to see how the rules change based on your selection. This helps set specific purchase requirements for each variant so inventory can move in a way that fits how each size is packaged or stocked.
